#861 Jak and Jil’s Tommy Ton on negative comments

“DEAR JAK & JIL READERS,

BEFORE I BEGIN POSTING IMAGES FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK, I WANTED TO MAKE A SHORT STATEMENT AND I WOULD HIGHLY APPRECIATE IT IF EVERY ONE OF YOU WHO READS THIS BLOG TAKES IT INTO CONSIDERATION. I DON’T MODERATE THE COMMENTS THAT MUCH ON THIS BLOG BECAUSE IN ALL FAIRNESS I WANTED TO WELCOME ALL CRITICISM OF ALL SORTS. IN AN EFFORT TO BE FAIR TO ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO VOLUNTARILY ALLOW ME TO PHOTOGRAPH THEM AND POST THEIR PICTURE ON MY BLOG, I’D LIKE TO PUT AN END TO ALL OF THE HARSH AND NEGATIVE COMMENTS. I CREATED THIS BLOG TO CELEBRATE FASHION, NOT TO PUBLICLY PUT SOMEONE’S IMAGE OUT THERE TO BE NEGATIVELY JUDGED. YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO YOUR NEGATIVITY, JUST NOT HERE ON JAK & JIL BLOG. THANK YOU.”

He can read minds.

I LIKE YOU!

Haha, this is great. You couldn’t find anything more relevant to your own blog if you tried. I find I am often intensely critical of so many things (in the great kiwi tall poppy tradition). But if you actually think and back up what you are going to say (and whether you would say it if you weren’t hiding behind the “Annonymous” title), it makes the difference between an informative critique and mindless abuse….

I have never understood negative comments to be honest- why spend your time actually typing out a comment on a blog you don’t even like? It baffles me. Why read the blog if you hate it that much?

Fair enough when talking about people on the street, but there needs to more more critiqueing of the media and the fashion world. This blog has had way to much arse licking of locals lately.

Questioning the stauts quo can be a good thing.
