#1187 Zambesi, Kate Sylvester, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Annah Stretton to show in Sydney

Rosemount Australia Fashion Week (May 3-7) will feature its biggest Kiwi lineup in recent years this season, with Zambesi, Kate Sylvester, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Annah Stretton all holding individual shows. I asked the designers for a little information about what they’re doing over there, and here’s what came back. Kate Sylvester sent though her show invite (below), which features the ideal company for a garden party – Coco Chanel, John Keats, Marcel Proust, Morrissey, NZ model Vincent Paunovic and, of course, Kate Sylvester herself (among others I can’t place).

True to form, Zambesi were typically vague, and emailed me two words – ‘Modern Rogue’. Your guess is as good as mine.

Stolen Girlfriends Club are keeping pretty tight-lipped at this stage, with Luke Harwood revealing nothing but “Life’s a beach, watch out for crabs.” Cryptic. Marc Moore also sent an email to the NZ contingent yesterday requesting support over there, because “OZZIES ALWAYS GANG UP ON KIWIS.”

And Annah Stretton is looking further afield than fashion this season, with a collection based on “[T]he cruel and inhumane farming practice that is prevalent in the pork and poultry industries globally”. Will we see another boar’s head on the catwalk? We can only hope.

I’m heading over for the week with Katherine Lowe and Olly Rose. Can’t wait!
