#1210 Georgia Fowler covers Harper’s Bazaar

Kiwi model Georgia Fowler (bottom, centre) will appear on the cover of June’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia alongside Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Juliana Forge, Meg Lindsay and Stephanie Cherry, according to fashion blog sassisam. It will be Fowler’s first international cover, and, as far as I know, the first time a New Zealander has appeared on a Harper’s Bazaar cover since Kylie Bax circa 1998.

Is it just me or does this cover remind anybody else of one of those 80s supermodel covers? But without the big personalities. Or the big hair. The cover lines speak of ‘The rise of the Australian supermodel’ (that will explain the model formation), but Georgia Fowler is a New Zealander; and ‘A return to curves’, despite all the cover models clearly being particularly slender. Go figure.

But regardless of all that, congrats to Georgia for the cover. Here’s to plenty more.

In other NZ model news, Zippora Seven appeared on The Sartorialist today (above), and Michael Whittaker flew out to Sydney where he will be working (and hopefully walking) for the duration of RAFW.

Thanks to Andy Pickering from Pilot (a New Zealand magazine that Georgia Fowler has covered) for the heads up.
