#1325 The Chanel diaries, part three

It was this time last year that I had the greatest (and most stressful) moment in my career as a sneak-in artist. The show was Chanel Haute Couture and the security was extreme. Six on each door, metal detectors, guns, the works. I managed to squeeze myself into the middle of a giant scrum of angry Italian photographers who grew fed up with waiting and surged the door enmasse. There was nothing the security guards could do, they were outnumbered 10 to one. Last season at Chanel, I waited in the bitter cold with grand ambitions of repeated success, but no such luck came my way. This time around, I made a discovery. Life is much simpler if you make early contact with a brand’s regional PR agent. It might not be quite as adventurous as winging it, but it can help guarantee that you’ll see the show.

This arrived in the mail for me yesterday.

Nothing beats the glory of sneaking in when all odds are stacked against you, but then again, nothing hurts more than the shame of failure. I assure you it’s a welcome sight.

I LIKE YOU!

Names just look better with ‘Monsieur’ or ‘Mademoiselle’ before them, don’t they? Ah, the French.
