#1537 I overstayed in Sydney to see Kanye West

As you all must know by now, I’m utterly obsessed with Kanye West – I love his music, I love his style, I love how human he is and I love his honesty. So when I was on set at Maroubra Beach on Friday and I received an email from a good friend inviting me to a sneak preview of Kanye West’s short film Runaway on Monday – presented by the man himself – I immediately called Air New Zealand and changed my flight. And then fainted with excitement.

Well folks, the day has come, I’ll be seeing him tonight. According to NME journalist Tim Chester (which I read via Pedestrian.TV), Runaway features a,

“[B]ody perfect model (Selita Ebanks) as a sexy phoenix that falls to earth and in love with Kanye, is full of fast cars, dreamlike sequences, explosions, banquets and a million other bits of cannon fodder for a cynical press to pounce on at its release in two weeks.”

Sounds amazing.

But the best bit about the whole thing is the Q&A that he’ll be doing afterwards. I was present at a press conference he held for 808s and Heartbreaks in 2008, and I found him to be one of the most truly fascinating speakers I’ve ever encountered.
