#1977 New Zealand Fashion Week, as seen from afar

twentysevennames Photos: Guy Coombes/Katherine Lowe

I have the craziest FOMO right now – New Zealand Fashion Week started yesterday and I’m a world away here in New York sitting in front of my computer watching all my friends, colleagues, acquaintances and competitors having the time of their lives. My extreme love for NZFW was what kick started this fashion obsession of mine so I am absolutely gutted not to be there. But enough with the self-pity. First things first: Have you seen Katherine Lowe‘s coverage? It is incredible, the girl posted 13 times yesterday. Bloggers – keeping mainstream media on its toes since the mid-noughties. From what I saw of yesterday’s shows, the three that stood out were twentysevennames, Juliette Hogan and Ingrid Starnes. The former’s Garden State-inspired pattern-on-pattern lookbook shots were totally my jam, and if Hogan’s yellow cardigan comes in men’s, put me down for one. Now, for some good old-fashioned nepotism: My cousin Nikau Hindin is down at the venue shooting the scene and her work is seriously impressive. Get in there. Best of luck to all the designers showing today! Wish I was there.

I’m suffering MO as well…and just to think it was possibly my last chance to do NZFW as a delegate. Fingers crossed the fat lady hasn’t sung on NZFW.
