Last week I got a call from my managers asking if I’d like to come into the office for a sit-down with some menswear designers from the CFDA incubator programme. The programme, I’m told, supports up-and-coming labels in their quest for world domination: Each week they’re given a day, time and location to show up for a talk about something pertaining to the business, from PR to presenting a range. Our session was about all things relating to social media, with a heavy dose of how-to-work-with-bloggers. I was assigned Marc and Ricky from Isaora (pronounced Is-Ah-Ora), a New York-based brand that specialises in high-performance menswear with a high-fashion design sensibility – think dark, moody, down-filled outerwear that you can snowboard in, and you’ll get a rough idea. With Liam Goslett in town for the Barkers campaign and Zeph Colombatto a perennially good time in front of the camera, I suggested we put together a shoot to highlight the brand’s Fall/Winter 2013/14 collection. The guys from Isaora said yes, and herein lie the results.
The above jacket deserves special mention – it’s a transparent down-filled coat with dyed feathers. Gangz.
See? High performance!
