Hey, gidday mates. Welcome to February. The first month of the year is officially over, taking with it all those well-intentioned plans to live life so much differently this time round. Did you know that gym membership levels rise by up to 50% in January? And that the second week of the first month of the year is the busiest week of the entire year? And that 80% of those new members are never seen again after February the 14th? The weakness of our very composition!
My resolutions for 2015 were pretty simple: Travel more and be more honest on the blog, and that’s about it, really. I’m currently attempting to organize my next trip, and I’m working on the honesty — like I mentioned in that Instagram ruining our lives blog post last week, I’ve been pretty filtered for the past six or so years, but I’m doing everything I can to remove the layers. Watch this space.
I’ve said this a million times, but just in case you’re new: I was so obsessed with English school uniforms back in those days that I used to actually go to uniform stores and buy those perfect charcoal grey V-neck sweaters and scratchy woolen pants.
This V-neck sweater is actually the one I was given by my girlfriend-at-the-time for Christmas of 2008, the first time I went to Paris for the menswear shows — and that was the beginning of all this. The moral of that story is that you should never throw anything away because sentimentalism is a brilliant reminder of where you’ve come from, where you had planned to go, and where you are right now. And on that note, I’m off to the gym.
I’m wearing: Oliver Peoples glasses; Private White VC down-filled tweed overcoat; Brooks Brothers Black Fleece sportcoat; Comme des Garcons PLAY sweater; Uniqlo shirt; Reiss pants; and Burberry shoes.
Special thanks to Moti Ankari of The Metro Man for the photos.
I LIKE YOU!
