Hey, gidday mates! I don’t know about you, but I’m on a perennial hunt for the perfect white T-shirt. Obviously the perfect white tee is entirely subjective, but right now I’m feeling a 1950s style Marlon Brando/James Dean fit, in a heavier weight cotton, with way short sleeves to show off the sculpted guns (which you’d know I’ve been working on every day if you’d been following me on Snapchat: isaaclikes).
This one is by new New York label Basic Rights, and it’s perfect, but I will admit that when it arrived I had to pull the sleeves as hard as possible so they weren’t squeezing the lifeblood out of my arms. Check Basic Rights out — they’re doing some of the best looking wardrobe staples I’ve ever seen.
By the way, this here is my friend Denny Balmaceda. He’s one of the most stylish dudes I know, and he has this amazing ability to rock a slick three piece suit one day, ripped jeans and Yeezys the next, then something fresh and 1950s like he’s doing here. It’s not an easy feat to be able to pull off such varied aesthetics in an authentic way, but he nails it every time. Killer!
In other news, not only is this outfit so ‘My Dad Circa 1998’, but I actually look a crazy amount like my father in these photos. Back in the 90s I was so obsessed with skateboarding and the baggiest jeans imaginable, that I used to cringe with mortification when Dad would walk out the door in his shirt tucked into his tapered jeans which he wore with desert boots. Oh how the tables have turned. The only difference — his were from Clarks, and these ones are by Coach. NB: The signature leather rip stop feature on the back.
