Hey, gidday mates! We’re in Greece! This is the one country I’ve been dying to visit for as long as I can remember — my Dad used to tell me stories about Perseus and the Minotaur when I was a little kid, I studied classics at high school and at university, and every year my parents used to get a calendar featuring photos of the Greek Islands, which we’d hang on our kitchen wall. Well here we are, and it’s as good as I imagined; but more on that later. Today, we’re talking Forever 21 (which Jenny and I are both wearing here in Santorini), and the fact that the brand is opening a giant megastore in the new Westfield Mall downtown in the World Trade Center.
Forever 21 is one of Jenny’s secret weapons — she goes in every once in a while, picks up a stack of cute pieces (like this pink miniskirt and this ringer tee), wears them to death, and the best bit is that she doesn’t even notice the impact on her bank balance because everything is so crazy well priced.
For this look, she loved the floral print of the bomber, which picked up the pink in the floral print of the dress.
I’ve had some good luck at Forever 21, too, like this red zip-up windbreaker, which reminds me of the jackets the skaters used to wear in the videos I watched 18,000 times in the 90s when I was a teenager.
For my look, I picked out an indigo striped short sleeve shirt (because blue short sleeve shirts are pretty much all I’m wearing this summer), a plain white tee, and these stonewash jeans. The whole look runs with the 90s Point Break vibe I’m feeling so hard right now, especially with the no socks and beat-up Vans.
The moral of the story is, go check out the new Forever 21 store in the WTC. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by what you find.
