Hey, gidday mates! So we flew in from Greece on Thursday night, spent two hours in line at customs (whenever people ask me what Isaac DOESN’T Like, waiting forever at airports after I’ve landed is my answer), got home at midnight, slept one night at home, then woke up extra early Friday morning and caught the train up to Montauk, where Jenny was hosting a paddle boarding competition, during which I jumped on a board fully clothed and promptly fell into the water.
I’ve been guilty of packing way too heavily recently, so this weekend I decided to simplify: One all-white outfit, which I paired with my new suede Adidas Gazelles; and one bomber jacket/white T-shirt/shorts combo, which I paired with my new Adidas Tubular Super Boosts (both of which were purchased on sale from Finish Line). Okay, I also got a pair of Alpha Bounces too. You know, for the days when I don’t feel like wearing my Ultra Boosts.
Everybody I know wears Stan Smiths and I’m a fan, but the vintage feel of the Superstars or the Gazelles is more my style. You can’t beat the suede, the classic three stripe, or the gold lettering — they’re perfect with your favorite pair of blue jeans, rolled khakis, or a casual summer suit (just check every J.Crew catalogue for fall to see that look done perfectly).
Also white on white on white!
If you follow me on Instagram or have been reading this blog for any length of time, you’ll know that over the past few months I’ve been working out outdoors most days of the week, so I went from a guy who never ever wore shorts, to a guy who wore them every day. Zero to 100 real quick.
These Adidas Tubular Super Boosts are my new favorite wear-with-shorts-sneakers. I picked up the high top street version of these bad boys when Jenny and I deejayed for Adidas recently, and they were all moonbooty and awesome, and these low tops are the performance/running version. If you’re not a runner — like me! — they’re still a great looking high-tech pair of shoes. Not quite as high-tech as this pair, but still.
Hope everyone’s enjoying their summers!
