Hey, gidday mates! Long time no talk. I have a legitimate excuse: Last week was one of the busiest of my life. Jenny and I deejayed three times, hosted a dinner party, and shot a two-day wedding campaign/lookbook thing for David’s Bridal. Good times all round. So this shoot here with my mate Matthew Zorpas is kinda funny for the fact that it happened within the space of 15 minutes on Monday afternoon between a phone call with my parents and my weekly therapy session; which was immediately followed by a trip uptown to the Tiffany & Co. flagship where we deejayed the party with Vogue that night.
I’ve known Matthew for a few years, we’ve been in Milan and Paris together on multiple occasions for the shows — he’s one of the few menswear bloggers who, like me, regularly travels on the show circuit. He’s a super super successful example for everyone who does my job; he combines travel inspiration and menswear aspiration seamlessly, and every time I click on his Instagram I slap myself in the face and think, “I can’t compete.”
He messaged me Sunday asking if I could put him in touch with a photographer, and I introduced him to James Creel, who I’ve been shooting with a bunch recently. We agreed to meet up in that extremely narrow window of time on Monday to snap some shots, and these were the results.
I’m wearing my current go-to coat, which I scored off the set of a Club Monaco social campaign that Jenny and I shot with Kat the week before. It’s herringbone, double-breasted, and extremely traditional and gentlemanly in a way that I love. Perfect pairing for my favorite blue jeans and a cool sweater. And that’s all I have to say about that.
