I’ve never stayed at the ACE before, and I’m pretty sure I’ve only ever been to the bar in Manhattan once, but I just discovered the hotel’s online store this evening, and it’s quite possibly my new favourite spot to shop for clothing, products, and homewares. Who knew? They collaborate with a bunch of great brands — from A.P.C. to Pendleton, Converse to Gloverall — to make special limited edition versions of amazing things. Below, my top picks from the site. Some of it’s expensive, some of it’s cheap; I want it all.Click to Continue!
You wouldn’t know it, but this is actually the third story I’ve written about the Shipley & Halmos pop-up store today. The first one should have gone up on Gilt MANual, but after I’d written the entire thing and clicked publish, a box popped up saying I wasn’t signed in, and when I typed in my username and password, it reverted back to a blank screen. Hello friends! It’s time to get back into the regular programming. To kick things off, yesterday Greg Lewis, Richard Biedul and I rocked up to the Shipley & Halmos showroom in the heart of SoHo to shoot a new installment of my VS series. Richie is my new best good friend, and here are a couple of quick facts about him: He’s English, he grows a good beard, he does 200 press-ups and 400 sit-ups EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK, he used to date a star of the Harry Potter film franchise, and he’s a former entertainment lawyer. Good times.Click to Continue!
Earlier in the week, I mentioned the importance of dressing for the job you want even if you’re not in the most liquid financial position. Well, friends, let me introduce you to a little store by the name of Club Monaco. In short, Club Monaco is your one stop shop for well-priced, well-designed clothing that’ll take you from woe to go. Getting there is as simple as throwing pieces together in a slightly off manner. Cliche alert: It’s classic with a twist. No, but you know what I mean – take that navy linen DB jacket I’m wearing in theClick to Continue!
