Hey, gidday mates! I can’t believe that this time two months ago, I’d never owned a camp collar shirt; now, I’m practically living in them. In case you’re unaware, a camp (or Cuban) collar shirt is a short sleeve button-up — often worn open — which features a lapel-like fold below the collar, and a straight-cut hem. Not unlike Vince Vaughn’s favorite 90s bowling shirt, but without the colored panels on the front. This one is by the Japanese brand Blue Blue Japan, and as you’ll see below, it features an amazing Mt Fuji + tiger print on the back. Plus it’s on sale right now! Win/win. I’ve just arrived back from a beautiful weekend upstate, but I’m failing at life because I threw my back out trying to boost a certain someone up a tree she wanted to climb. Chiropractor appointment is one hour away. Just gotta hold on till then.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Here in New York, there’s this gang of dudes (mainly models, musicians and other nightlife types) who wear a uniform of black leather jackets, skinny black jeans and tan suede Saint Laurent Chelsea boots. I’m yet to buy into the YSL boot club (whenever I try them on, they make me feel like I’m a cowboy), but I’ve gotta admit, it’s a super fresh look. It’s also one of the best examples of something I never thought was possible — pairing brown and black. It would appear that black and tan is a perfect color combination, especially when the black is denim and the tan is suede. This is my version (and the jacket I’m wearing is on sale for under $100 right now!). One of these days I’ll make the Chelsea boots mine, though. One of these days.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I don’t know about you, but I’m on a perennial hunt for the perfect white T-shirt. Obviously the perfect white tee is entirely subjective, but right now I’m feeling a 1950s style Marlon Brando/James Dean fit, in a heavier weight cotton, with way short sleeves to show off the sculpted guns (which you’d know I’ve been working on every day if you’d been following me on Snapchat: isaaclikes).Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I don’t know about you, but everything feels weird right now. Spring keeps teasing; everyone I know is either sick or suffering from some kind of seasonal/occupational depression; and I think we’re all just desperate to get the winter behind us and move onto new adventures. But I walk through Tompkins Square Park and see the little green shoots and pink blossoms appearing on trees all over the place and it reminds me that everything’s going to be okay. Everything’s going to be okay. Everything’s going to be okay. As a way of combatting the seasonal slump, I’m setting myself a goal of wearing something completely different every day (as opposed to living in my black jeans and leather jacket). This is my attempt at British royal visiting Balmoral Castle in Scotland. How’d I do what what?Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Retail stores have been pushing spring/summer clothing since mid-January, which makes all the sense, because who doesn’t wanna start buying lightweight layers when it’s snowing outside? But this week spring arrived, and you can see it straight away — dogs are humping legs, teenagers are running around grabbing butts, and some eager beavers are trying it in T-shirts and tank tops. Too soon for all that if you ask me, but now is a good time to start having a think about what to wear for spring. This outfit is about as seasonally cliche as they come — it’s practically the Love Boat uniform — but I’ve been wearing black all winter, so it’s a welcome change. NB though: The loosely worn DB jacket, the untucked tee and the lived-in (aka: dirty) jeans. Anything too crisp with a combo like this and it get a little too exciting and new.Click to Continue!
