Hey, gidday mates! Like I mentioned yesterday, on Saturday night I had dinner with Cameron Dallas. I should say THE Cameron Dallas, because the crowd that showed up for the kid at the Calvin Klein show yesterday was rivaled only by crowds I’ve seen for Lucky Blue Smith, Justin Bieber and Will Smith. I’m talking girls in their hundreds, screaming, chanting, crying, the real deal. And proving my age, I didn’t even know who he was. (If you’re old like me, he’s a Youtube star and social media sensation.) Full disclosure, I shook his hand but didn’t talk to him because we were seated at opposite ends of the table, but he did show everyone a Youtube video of a bunch of young dudes eating hair cake, so that happened.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Happy New Year!!! Back to life, back to reality. Early January is always a weird time — everyone’s still in holiday mode but obsessively trying to cling on to their resolutions; after all, 17 days is all that’s required to create a habit (I have no science to back that up, FYI). I guess I’m no exception. I worked out at Equinox in Soho with Moti Ankari on Saturday and I even found myself promising to go at least five times per week in 2016. I rate the likelihood of success at around 33.7%.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! The other day I was scrolling through my buddy Justin Livingston’s feed when I came across a photo of him wearing the perfect tobacco suede moto jacket. It’s funny, if you go back a couple of years on my blog, I would’ve said that the ideal men’s uniform consisted of khaki pants and raw denim jeans and pale blue and white oxford shirts with a blue blazer thrown in for good measure — you know, the building blocks. These days, I’m all about individual standout pieces that you can wear every day of the week, and that get better with age.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Fall is here. It happened overnight. There are leaves in the street, the skies are darker, and the air has that hint of chill coupled with winds that whirlpool dust and newspaper pages all around. There’s electricity in the atmosphere. The clothing is becoming more interesting, too. Already we’re seeing richer, darker colours; heavier, longer layers; and textures coming into play that have been hidden in the back of closets for the past four months of summer. It’s a perfect moment for corduroy, and nothing beats a traditional American two/three roll sack jacket like this one by Alex Mill.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! First things first, something amazing happened last night: Jenny and I deejayed an impromptu after party at Never Never with Virgil Abloh. Insane. It’s a surreal feeling when you get to work alongside people you’ve been following since before you had any conception that one day you’d be living in New York or writing a blog or dating a beautiful girl named Jenny Albright. Life is good.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I shot this one on the East River on Tuesday morning right before I had to run to the airport to catch my flight to Los Angeles. If the denim-on-denim combo looks familiar, it’s because I have probably blogged this outfit about seventeen thousand times, and that would be because it’s my go-to whenever I’m stressed and I need something easy and familiar that works for all occasions (within reason): Meetings, check. Travel, check. Weddings, ehhhh hard to say. Denim on denim can also handle some big colour, like these Supergas, which have been getting a lot of play this summer with neutrals like my white jeans and khakis. The moral of the story is: 1. Get a uniform! It helps when you’re feeling the heat; and 2. Don’t be afraid to introduce colour into your wardrobe! It’s more fun that way!!!Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates. I don’t know where your head’s at, but as far as I’m concerned, there’s something very cool about wearing a head-to-toe one-colour look in the warm weather. My favourite of all time is probably white-out (white T-shirt, white jeans and white high top Chuck Taylors), but blue is definitely the easiest colour to do it with because there are so many complementary shades to play with, like stonewash denim with indigo with sky blue with navy… This combo here is kind of interesting because the darkest colour that grounds the whole shebang is usually found on your pants or jacket, but here I’m wearing it in the deep indigo T-shirt, and that acts as a solid base for the pants and cardigan which might look a little flimsy together without that dark anchor. Y’dig? Anyway, give it a go, I promise you’ll like it. Das it das it.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Hola! Que tal? I’m coming to you live from Maderas Village in sunny Nicaragua, Central America, where I’m going to be located for the next six days. Operation: Get A Tan is now in session. I’m here with a bunch of my best friends and I will be updating my Instagram with obnoxious regularity so go take a gander if you so desire. This post was clearly not shot in Nicaragua, but in Soho, and features as much tone-on-tone denim as I could fit on my person. More is more, people, more is more.Click to Continue!
Spring officially sprung (sprang?) yesterday here in America, and as we pushed our clocks forward one hour, something miraculous happened — the season proclaimed its existence with a bright blue sky and blazing yellow sun, and began to work its magic on the snow that’s covered the ground for the past few months. Mountains became molehills, drips converged to form puddles, puddles overflowed to form little streams, and little streams coursed together to form swiftly flowing currents that washed the murky remnants of winter down the drain and out to sea. So with that in mind, it’s my honest hope that this camel double breasted beauty by the Japanese label Tomorrowland will be the last overcoat I have to post on my blog for the next six or so months.Click to Continue!
I don’t know about you, but when I saw the blue and black dress that everybody has been sending around for the past 16 hours, I saw a blue and black dress. Anybody claiming white and gold is clearly living in some other light and colour dimension that I’m not privy to. For the record, the dress is blue and black so if you saw what I saw then you got it right (Taylor, Kanye and Justin Bieber all saw blue and black so we’re in good company). So how about me? Am I wearing blue and black or white and gold? Read on to find out…Click to Continue!
