Hey, gidday mates! A few things: 1. New York Fashion Week: Men’s starts today; 2. It is unseasonably warm right now in New York (it’s going to be 16 degrees/61 Fahrenheit on Wednesday); and that means, 3. We can actually wear well-thought-out outfits without having to worry about dying of cold. Hooray! This Tatras goose down puffer jacket is my secret weapon right now. It’s warm but almost completely weightless, and because it’s puffy it compresses, which means I can wear it underneath just about anything — including a tailored suit jacket — eliminating the need for an overcoat. It also makes me look super Italian, which can only mean good things. Si si? Maybe. Hard to say. Happy Fashion Week, New Yorkers! Happy Monday, everybody else!Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Today is Blue Oxford Day — a partnership between Lands’ End and the Prostate Cancer Foundation — by wearing a Lands’ End Blue No Iron Pinpoint Oxford Shirt today, you’ll be standing in solidarity with survivors and sufferers of this brutal disease. Prostate cancer affects approximately one in every seven men, and my family is not immune; my grandfather died almost exactly three months after being diagnosed with the disease in 2007. So here’s what you can do: Get regular checkups, and purchase a Lands’ End Blue No Iron Pinpoint Oxford Shirt between now and February 13, 2016 — they’re donating 10% of sales to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I’ve been going so casual for the past few months that I thought it was about time that I went back to my schoolboy-dressing roots for a minute. So with that in mind, this was the outfit I wore when Jenny and I deejayed the William Morris Endeavor holiday party at The Bowery Hotel a couple weeks ago. I’m not messing around when I say schoolboy, and to be fair, if I pushed this outfit any further it’d probably err on the side of costume, but here and now, it’s a uniform classic: Navy chalk-stripe blazer, white button-down shirt, navy knit tie, grey pants, black Docs, done.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I went to the J.Crew store on 5th Ave a couple of days ago to check out a panel discussion with some of New York’s leading young designers (Prabal Gurung, Joseph Altuzarra, Tabitha Simmons and the Public School boys included), and while I was there, I spotted a mannequin dressed in a blue blazer, pale blue oxford shirt and white jeans, and was like, ‘That’s my next outfit.’ It’s easy to forget just how good the classic menswear staples look, and how sharp a navy jacket looks paired with an oxford shirt, white jeans and a brown belt. Sometimes you’ve just gotta get back to basics. Check out the shoes too — they’re by To Boot New York, and they’re that perfect mix of suede and sneaker; not quite a chukka but not quite a designer hightop. Killer.Click to Continue!
‘Tis the season, and you know what that means: parties, dinners, family vacations, office frivolities, too many drinks, a billion hands to shake, partners to impress, babies to kiss, and so on and so forth till the new year. And then it’s time for resolutions and life-changing goals and new relationships and everything else so what I’m trying to say is that despite the fact that there’s a lot of fun to be had, it’s also, without a doubt, one of the most stressful times of your life. How did it roll around again so quickly?
At times like these, the last thing you want to worry about is what to wear or who to wear it with, so click over to MyHabit’s blog theFIX to find out the three things that I believe YOU NEED to get through the season in style!Click to Continue!
