With autumn in the air, the city has undergone a tangible shift from bright and balmy to dark and moody; perfect for romantic rendezvous on street corners and secret missions along windswept avenues. This week, under the gentle kiss of rain — and the glowing neon lights of long-forgotten watering holes — in matching trench coats and a transparent umbrella, Jenny and I ran around the streets of Noho with Kat Irlin to showcase what we’re wearing in these early days of fall. Don’t forget your partner in crime.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! We’re in that crossover period between spring showers and summer heat right now in New York City, and the atmosphere outside feels not unlike the inside of a mouth. Not my favorite. So, lightweight raincoats are an absolute must because you never know when the skies are going to open and drench all and sundry. I say lightweight, because anything heavier will result in a similar drenching, from sweat. Ewwwwww. Jenny and I took a spin around Nolita with our mate Kat Irlin yesterday, and paired our trench coats with easy T-shirts, broken-in denim and Chuck Taylors. Fun fact: The jeans that Jenny’s wearing are my 10-year-old Ksubi Van Winkles, which I bought in Auckland in 2006, and wore every day for the next two years. No joke. They were one color when I got them, every fade you see is entirely legit. (Pity I’ve outgrown them.)Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I don’t know about you, but everything feels weird right now. Spring keeps teasing; everyone I know is either sick or suffering from some kind of seasonal/occupational depression; and I think we’re all just desperate to get the winter behind us and move onto new adventures. But I walk through Tompkins Square Park and see the little green shoots and pink blossoms appearing on trees all over the place and it reminds me that everything’s going to be okay. Everything’s going to be okay. Everything’s going to be okay. As a way of combatting the seasonal slump, I’m setting myself a goal of wearing something completely different every day (as opposed to living in my black jeans and leather jacket). This is my attempt at British royal visiting Balmoral Castle in Scotland. How’d I do what what?Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! As you’ll see here, I love three things: Jenny Albright, making out in the rain, and shooting with Kat Irlin aka @kat_in_nyc. Not necessarily in that order, but I also love trench coats, running around the West Village, and the fact that it’s December and the chill still hasn’t hit. I don’t really know what else to say about that, but I’m feeling very happy with my lot right now. Hope you are too. Long may it continue.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I walk along this stretch of sidewalk past Tompkins Square Park every day of the week, stopping off at Ninth Street Espresso for a coffee on my way, and when I sit on the bench outside and look across the street, I see the seasonal transformation. The temperatures are dropping, the winds are picking up, and every surface is covered with a blanket of golden leaves: Fall is here. Perfect time for trench coats and woolen pants, with sharp leather lace-ups.Click to Continue!
