1. Katherine wrote about Justin Bieber the other day, so I figure that’s as good a place as any to start. I spend a disproportionate amount of time talking and thinking about Biebz. I like two of his songs a lot (here and here), and I find myself defending him to the naysayers fairly regularly, with one simple question: Imagine if you were 18-21 with all the money in the world and everyone wanted a piece of you and you were still trying to figure out who you were, how would you behave? Probably as bad if not worse than Justin Bieber. I did endless amounts of ridiculous things and I wasn’t rich or wanted. Keep that in mind next time you’re hating.Click to Continue!
This morning at the Lacoste show, I attempted to interview the actor Nat Wolff (aka Rusty from Stuck In Love — a film that I liked so much I watched it twice in one month), but his publicist came over after a couple of questions and said I was only allowed to ask one more, so all I can tell you about him is that his favourite Instagram account is The Fat Jewish, that he’s about to star in a movie called Paper Towns based on a novel by John Green — opposite Cara Delevingne, no less — and that the coolest person he’s ever sat next to at a fashion show was Charles Michael Davis from Grey’s Anatomy. A couple of seats along, however, was Tijs Michiel Verwest — the Dutch DJ and international musical sensation better known as Tiësto — and he was quite happy to talk for a few minutes about everything from his experiences on Tinder to his favourite songs of the summer; plus his worst habit, his go-to joke, who he likes best out of Drake and Kanye, and lots more.Click to Continue!
1. You know what I find distasteful? A respectable publication writing a story about the business troubles and debt L’Wren Scott found herself in prior to her death, and then finishing the piece by saying that they extend their deepest condolences to the family. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t write a click-bait heavy piece and then try and play it off as if you really care. If you really cared, you probably wouldn’t have written the story in the first place. It’s gross.Click to Continue!

Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his West Village apartment this morning, which is an enormous loss to the American movie industry, and an even bigger loss to his family. He rode past me on his beat-up old bike one time on Bowery looking just like one of his down-and-out movie characters, and I was so excited I called my parents in New Zealand to tell them.
James Lowe and Lorde (aka Ella Yelich O’Connor) James Lowe and I were talking a few weeks ago about what he was going to wear to the New Zealand Music Awards, which took place on Thursday night in Auckland. He threw out a couple of options including an old made-to-measure suit with baggy pants he had lying around in the back of his closet, and a streetwear brand that does a thrifty version of a suit. I was like oh hell no, you’re going to be stared at and photographed all night long, you’ve gotta go all out. He wasClick to Continue!
