Hey, gidday mates. Welcome to February. The first month of the year is officially over, taking with it all those well-intentioned plans to live life so much differently this time round. Did you know that gym membership levels rise by up to 50% in January? And that the second week of the first month of the year is the busiest week of the entire year? And that 80% of those new members are never seen again after February the 14th? The weakness of our very composition!Click to Continue!
Gangz of New York. Pic: Olivia Fleming 1. Hanging out with Kiwis here in New York. This past week we’ve had David Dallas, Peter Wadams (aka P Money), Andy Murnane (Dawn Raid’s CEO) and Simon Oscroft (guitarist for Midnight Youth) in town, plus old faithfuls Georgia Fowler, Olivia Fleming, Tom Gould and Jack Tame. It’s the expat equivalent of catching up with your cousins after a long gap – the familiarity’s there, all the old jokes are the same and you never have to explain yourself; they all just get it. But that’s what it’s come to here in Paris folks – city of lights, love, broken dreams and stolen cameras. But you know what? I’m going to rise to the challenge. For the next little while (until I find a replacement camera, photographer or both), I’m gonna do all my outfit posts with Photo Booth. Let’s call them The Photo Booth Diaries. First up, a series with me wearing just about everything I packed – Crane Brothers pistachio green blazer, maroon Comme PlayClick to Continue!
Comme Play Chuck Taylors have landed in New Zealand. We weren’t supposed to get them here due to an issue with Converse licensing, but that must have all been cleared up because I’ve just received word from Leon at Fabric that they arrived yesterday and are on the shop floor this morning. Fabric has 100 pairs – 25 of each style (see the photos below) – lows and highs in black and lows and highs in cream. All with a red Comme Play heart. $185 for the lows, $195 for the highs. I’d get in quick, they’ll sell out superClick to Continue!
