Hey, gidday mates! Fall is here. It happened overnight. There are leaves in the street, the skies are darker, and the air has that hint of chill coupled with winds that whirlpool dust and newspaper pages all around. There’s electricity in the atmosphere. The clothing is becoming more interesting, too. Already we’re seeing richer, darker colours; heavier, longer layers; and textures coming into play that have been hidden in the back of closets for the past four months of summer. It’s a perfect moment for corduroy, and nothing beats a traditional American two/three roll sack jacket like this one by Alex Mill.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! First things first, something amazing happened last night: Jenny and I deejayed an impromptu after party at Never Never with Virgil Abloh. Insane. It’s a surreal feeling when you get to work alongside people you’ve been following since before you had any conception that one day you’d be living in New York or writing a blog or dating a beautiful girl named Jenny Albright. I imagine it was Levi’s, or Tom Ford’s take on a Levi’s classic, but try as I might, I couldn’t seem to locate one for myself. Fast forward 18 months to today and I was checking out the new store LOFT on O’Connell Street in Auckland. Alongside a full range of suiting (both made-to-measure and off-the-rack), the storeClick to Continue!
Photos: Katherine Lowe I’m not going to lie, it’s been a fairly successful month in the acquisitions department. Arriving back to New Zealand from the States, I landed in Christchurch right in the middle of Ayyám-i-Há (pronounced ah-yummy-ha), which is the Baha’i gift-giving festival. There, I was presented with possibly the greatest present of my life: a maroon Comme des Garcons wallet courtesy of my sister Rebeccah. But not just any maroon Comme wallet, the maroon Comme wallet. Holla! Arriving back in Auckland, Black Box and Dr Denim gifted me a pair of corduroy trousers, which I’ve worn daily everClick to Continue!
