Anon asks: Hi Isaac! I have a longterm male friend, we have always had this wild connection and we’re very similar. He was supposed to come see me in New York from LA and then he just didn’t show up, leaving me waiting. He messaged two days later to explain that he’s been going through a hard time recently. He takes a lot of hard drugs. I ended our friendship due to my embarrassment and his recent habit of lying. It has been a month. I miss him, but he hasn’t been a good friend lately. Should I leave the situation alone? Move on?
If I was you I’d leave it until he has a handle on his problem with drugs and he cleans himself up. You could tell him that you’re happy to support him to get clean, but you can only do so much — he has to want to make a change. If he’s not willing to do it, then I’d stay as far clear of him as I could if I were you.Click to Continue!
