Hey, gidday mates! I’m on this quest to collect as much streetwear as possible right now. It’s a hobby I haven’t indulged in since my university days (over 10 years ago!!!) when I used to scour eBay for all the Nike Vandals and throwback basketball jerseys I could find, and wear them with the skinniest jeans imaginable. It was a look. This time round I’m toning it down. A bit. This yellow Stussy hoodie is my latest acquisition, and I love it under a beautiful piece of outerwear like my trusty Zegna coat, and some tailored pants like these wide-wale cords by Gant Rugger, all finished off with these heavy-soled Dries Van Noten derbies. I guess it’s like an adult take on a teenage style. Which is fitting, because I’m kinda like an adult version of a teenager.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Ciao bellas e bellos! Day two of Milan Fashion Week has just wrapped, and I’m running a day behind, so let’s kick things off with day one today, then day two tomorrow, and so on and so forth. You get my drift. So! It all started with Ermenegildo Zegna, and ended with Lil Wayne flipping the audience off and walking out of the Philipp Plein show 45 seconds into his set, which, as you can imagine, was an extreme disappointment for all concerned (but especially for his number one fan Jenny Albright).Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I’m still here in the seasonless blue skies-ville known as Los Angeles, California, but if you’re located in a city that boasts falling leaves, chilly winds and an imminent winter, this one’s for you. Wherever you are though, there’s a shift afoot. Bjorn Borg’s hair (and Wimbledon outfits) are starting to look extremely fresh; turtlenecks are everywhere; sheepskin coats are the outerwear of choice; and suede Chelsea boots are popping up on the unlikeliest of feet. The 1970s are back, which means hair’s getting longer, colors are getting richer, and Almost Famous can be claimed as outfit inspiration. We’re just one step away from men in flared jeans. Hey, gidday mates! First things first, click over to Mr Porter to see a feature I was shot for alongside The Roots drummer Questlove, celebrity trainer Noah Neiman, man about town Steven Rojas, and photographer Dapper Lou about how to dress for your body type. (I was chosen as the lean man.) You’ll see I’m wearing the same sweater here as I am in those photos — the team were aware of my obsession with beautiful woolen knitwear, and very kindly let me walk out the door with it after we’d shot. It’s the perfect piece to add a bit of texture and color to an otherwise pared back chocolate, tan and khaki combo, aka the fall uniform.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! As a young dude on the scene in Auckland in the naughty noughties, Stolen Girlfriends Club was the label — they threw the biggest parties, they influenced what we were wearing on the street, and they were also just awesome (slightly) older dudes that I personally looked up to. SGC’s fashion week shows were epic events with loud, crashing music, killer stunts and a no-holds-barred rock’n’roll energy, and after watching their 10th anniversary show last night (including Derya Parlak’s crowd surf stage dive off the runway at the St James Theatre), I’m pleased to announce that nothingClick to Continue!
