If you, like me, are a slave to the streetstyle photographers’ Instagram accounts, you might have noticed a stylish, avant garde looking dude with long hair and amazing hats popping up all over your feed over the past couple of years. His name is Isaac LaRose, he’s Québécois, and the hats are his own design, under the moniker LaRose Paris. Isaac and I were introduced a few months ago by our mutual friend, the illustrator Richard Haines, and I ran into him again today at Pitti Uomo, where he’s currently showing his latest hat collection. Nothing beats coming home and discovering that your Mum suddenly has all these knitting skills you never knew about. I came to New York all trad in blazers and sweaters and shirts and ties but it’s so fricken hot here all I can wear is tee shirts and jeans. Today I went shopping with a New Zealand girl named Olivia. We went to all these New York skate/street stores like Stussy and Supreme and she bought this hat for her mate back home.
