With autumn in the air, the city has undergone a tangible shift from bright and balmy to dark and moody; perfect for romantic rendezvous on street corners and secret missions along windswept avenues. This week, under the gentle kiss of rain — and the glowing neon lights of long-forgotten watering holes — in matching trench coats and a transparent umbrella, Jenny and I ran around the streets of Noho with Kat Irlin to showcase what we’re wearing in these early days of fall. Don’t forget your partner in crime.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! We’re in Greece! This is the one country I’ve been dying to visit for as long as I can remember — my Dad used to tell me stories about Perseus and the Minotaur when I was a little kid, I studied classics at high school and at university, and every year my parents used to get a calendar featuring photos of the Greek Islands, which we’d hang on our kitchen wall. Well here we are, and it’s as good as I imagined; but more on that later. Today, we’re talking Forever 21 (which Jenny and I are both wearing here in Santorini), and the fact that the brand is opening a giant megastore in the new Westfield Mall downtown in the World Trade Center.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! We DJ every Saturday night at The Handy Liquor Bar in Soho, and because it’s always such a big, late night, we try to keep things as healthy as possible during the day — first things first, working out. Jenny’s a big fan of cardio, I prefer calisthenics, but if she wants a race, who am I to say no? (She won.)Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Dressing well for summer requires maximum look with minimum clothing, so as always, I’m currently on the hunt for perfect basics from denim to t-shirts to leather jackets. In our quest for summer looks, Jenny and I teamed up with Armani Exchange to showcase the brand’s new summer collection, and road-test the aforementioned denim, t-shirts, jackets; and in Jenny’s case, dresses, et al. They’re classic pieces with plenty of visual pop — perfect for the hotter months. We shot these photos over the course of a weekend in Manhattan, and as you’ll see, we experienced all the weather. ALL THE WEATHER. It started off sunny, got a little cloudy, got a lot cloudy, started drizzling, then bucketed down. See the results, below.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! We’re in that crossover period between spring showers and summer heat right now in New York City, and the atmosphere outside feels not unlike the inside of a mouth. Not my favorite. So, lightweight raincoats are an absolute must because you never know when the skies are going to open and drench all and sundry. I say lightweight, because anything heavier will result in a similar drenching, from sweat. Ewwwwww. Jenny and I took a spin around Nolita with our mate Kat Irlin yesterday, and paired our trench coats with easy T-shirts, broken-in denim and Chuck Taylors. Fun fact: The jeans that Jenny’s wearing are my 10-year-old Ksubi Van Winkles, which I bought in Auckland in 2006, and wore every day for the next two years. No joke. They were one color when I got them, every fade you see is entirely legit. (Pity I’ve outgrown them.)Click to Continue!
