Hey, gidday mates! I’m reporting to you live from Paris, having left Milan yesterday afternoon on the fashion flight with every 17 year old male model, a bunch of menswear editors, and Jenny. Now I’m sitting in the living room of my Montmartre apartment listening to Good Charlotte with Jenny and Kat Irlin of @kat_in_nyc fame, who arrived from New York at 5:00 this morning. Those two are talking too much for me to be able to concentrate properly on writing this blog post, so without further ado, here are a bunch of photos shot on our last day of shows in Milan, and which appeared in GQ, British Vogue and Vogue Paris, and WWD. Yewwwww!Click to Continue!
God Save The Food is this popular restaurant in Milan that sits opposite Armani’s spaceship grey headquarters, and close to those of Zegna, Canali, and Moncler. On any given day it’s filled to the brink with the young Milanese fashion crowd, who come for the salads and fresh-squeezed juices (labeled smoothies on the menu), and who probably stay for the gossip, but I don’t speak the language so it’s hard to tell. It’s also the closest any of us out-of-towners come to healthy-ish food while we’re here for fashion week, so it’s a regular pitstop during the shows.Click to Continue!
With autumn in the air, the city has undergone a tangible shift from bright and balmy to dark and moody; perfect for romantic rendezvous on street corners and secret missions along windswept avenues. This week, under the gentle kiss of rain — and the glowing neon lights of long-forgotten watering holes — in matching trench coats and a transparent umbrella, Jenny and I ran around the streets of Noho with Kat Irlin to showcase what we’re wearing in these early days of fall. Don’t forget your partner in crime.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Now that we’re back in the city, we finally took the opp to check out the beautiful new transport hub/oculus/mall in the basement of the World Trade Center. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend it — it’s some next level space age Star Trek live long and prosper type architecture. Amazing for an Instagram shot if nothing else. And while we were at it, we hit the Forever 21 store to pick up some pieces from the Justin Bieber tour march collection for Jenny. Sadly they don’t come in men’s, so I had to make do with this fresh 1970s throwback tee. Not Bieber, but not bad. Does it amaze anybody else that like 18 months ago if someone had offered us a Justin Bieber t-shirt we would have thought it was a bad joke? And now we’re dying to get our hands on anything with his name on it. Oh how the tides have turned. #JustinForever.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! We’re in Greece! This is the one country I’ve been dying to visit for as long as I can remember — my Dad used to tell me stories about Perseus and the Minotaur when I was a little kid, I studied classics at high school and at university, and every year my parents used to get a calendar featuring photos of the Greek Islands, which we’d hang on our kitchen wall. Well here we are, and it’s as good as I imagined; but more on that later. Today, we’re talking Forever 21 (which Jenny and I are both wearing here in Santorini), and the fact that the brand is opening a giant megastore in the new Westfield Mall downtown in the World Trade Center.Click to Continue!
