Hey, gidday mates! Denny and I have a shared obsession with trawling through photos of our favorite style icons and attempting to recreate the outfits with clothing we already have in our wardrobes. For this one, we were inspired by the prince of teenage angst, Mr James Dean. If you’ve been following here for a while, you’ll know I did my own version of Rebel Without A Cause last year, so Denny recreated that one, and I went for the James-Dean-as-a-biker vibe. I’ve been wearing these shorter, baggier jeans a lot recently — it’s the 1950s by way of 2016.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Here in New York, there’s this gang of dudes (mainly models, musicians and other nightlife types) who wear a uniform of black leather jackets, skinny black jeans and tan suede Saint Laurent Chelsea boots. I’m yet to buy into the YSL boot club (whenever I try them on, they make me feel like I’m a cowboy), but I’ve gotta admit, it’s a super fresh look. It’s also one of the best examples of something I never thought was possible — pairing brown and black. It would appear that black and tan is a perfect color combination, especially when the black is denim and the tan is suede. This is my version (and the jacket I’m wearing is on sale for under $100 right now!). One of these days I’ll make the Chelsea boots mine, though. One of these days.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Bonjour, bonjour. First up, apologies if you’ve been having issues with the site for the past few days, the server went down, but we should be up and running at 100% by tomorrow morning at the latest. Jenny and I arrived back from Paris last night, and while I will always love those trips to Europe, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of being in my own apartment, hanging jackets in my own wardrobe, using internet that works properly, eating normal food (like peanut butter and tomatoes on toast) and drinking coffee that’s so strong and so black that a single sip feels like a shot of adrenaline to the heart. GOD BLESS AMERICA.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! The other day I was scrolling through my buddy Justin Livingston’s feed when I came across a photo of him wearing the perfect tobacco suede moto jacket. It’s funny, if you go back a couple of years on my blog, I would’ve said that the ideal men’s uniform consisted of khaki pants and raw denim jeans and pale blue and white oxford shirts with a blue blazer thrown in for good measure — you know, the building blocks. These days, I’m all about individual standout pieces that you can wear every day of the week, and that get better with age.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! One of the distinct advantages of this warmer weather we’ve been having is that every now and again when the icy winds stop, the clouds break and the sun shines down, we can begin to transition our way into a wardrobe that doesn’t revolve around overcoats and scarves and seventeen thousand layers.Click to Continue!
