I’ve made many a bold statement on Isaac Likes over the years, two of which included: 1. I WILL NEVER WEAR BLACK CLOTHING! and 2. NEVER SAY NEVER BECAUSE IT WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU ON THE ASS! Well my friends, yesterday I proved the latter line true, and for the first time (possibly ever?) I wore a head-to-toe black outfit. As followers of fashion, we’ve seen the huge 90s style resurgence over the past few months, especially with the proliferation of stonewash jeans being worn by everybody everywhere, but like I mentioned last week, the 90s that I’m getting into at the moment is of the clean-cut Manhattanite yuppie variety — I can imagine a movie star like Alec Baldwin wearing this very outfit walking down 5th Ave in 1993.Click to Continue!
A few weeks ago I got a phone call from the team at Maison Kitsune, asking me if I’d like to co-host an event they were doing with some of the young French labels sold at Saks Fifth Avenue. You know that line in The Nanny theme song: “She’s the lady in red when everybody else is wearing tan…” Remind you of anybody? Me neither. Nevertheless, Marcel Floruss and I laughed when we saw what the other was wearing for our duo-shoot last week — in words, our outfits are very similar: Tailoring and knitwear; in reality, they couldn’t be more different. Luckily for us, variety is the spice of life.Click to Continue!
Hey gidday mates. I was hanging out with Marcel Floruss (of One Dapper Street fame) the other day, and I asked him how he managed to post seven outfits a week on his blog. I was convinced he must be getting sent boxes of clothing every other day in order to be able to put together so many looks. His reply was simple: “My apartment is a closet. I have a lot of clothes.”Click to Continue!
