Hey, gidday mates! Ever find yourself in a situation where you need to look like you’re making an effort but you don’t want to go overboard on the formality? Same. On those days, this is my go-to outfit. It’s simple and classic — blue blazer, grey pants, and leather lace-ups; but the unbuttoned (unironed) chambray shirt keeps things relaxed and a little disheveled. On the day I shot these photos with my boy Bobby Hicks, I was running all over the city from meetings to meetings — the hotter it got, the more buttons came undone. By the end of the day I was pretty much Richard Gere in American Gigolo.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I don’t know about you, but I’m on a perennial hunt for the perfect white T-shirt. Obviously the perfect white tee is entirely subjective, but right now I’m feeling a 1950s style Marlon Brando/James Dean fit, in a heavier weight cotton, with way short sleeves to show off the sculpted guns (which you’d know I’ve been working on every day if you’d been following me on Snapchat: isaaclikes).Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! This right here is my favorite outfit of the moment. It’s a slight update on my favorite outfit of last summer — i.e. I threw a jacket over top — and I made one small improvement: my belt matches my shoes this time around. The look is a little bit 1950s with the candy striped shirt, the grey hopsack pants and the white socks, and it’s a little bit 1980s with the double breasted jacket, but most of all, it’s a cool take on what is probably the most
boring classic formal outfit a guy can wear: Blue blazer, button-down shirt, grey flannel pants. It might not exactly be wedding reception appropriate, but it’s perfect for any event I have to go to that requires me to be a bit dressed up but not personality-less. Ya dig?
Hey, gidday mates! I walk along this stretch of sidewalk past Tompkins Square Park every day of the week, stopping off at Ninth Street Espresso for a coffee on my way, and when I sit on the bench outside and look across the street, I see the seasonal transformation. The temperatures are dropping, the winds are picking up, and every surface is covered with a blanket of golden leaves: Fall is here. Perfect time for trench coats and woolen pants, with sharp leather lace-ups.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! So on Wednesday last week, Jenny and I deejayed the Meatpacking store opening party for Fjallraven*, the Swedish brand known for its Kanken backpacks. I chose this orange utility jacket for the occasion, and I’ve been living in it ever since because New York’s weather took a turn for the freezing over the weekend, and my building is refusing to turn on the heat for another couple of weeks, so the fleece and down are saving my life right now.Click to Continue!
