Hey, gidday mates! Like I mentioned yesterday, on Saturday night I had dinner with Cameron Dallas. I should say THE Cameron Dallas, because the crowd that showed up for the kid at the Calvin Klein show yesterday was rivaled only by crowds I’ve seen for Lucky Blue Smith, Justin Bieber and Will Smith. I’m talking girls in their hundreds, screaming, chanting, crying, the real deal. And proving my age, I didn’t even know who he was. (If you’re old like me, he’s a Youtube star and social media sensation.) Full disclosure, I shook his hand but didn’t talk to him because we were seated at opposite ends of the table, but he did show everyone a Youtube video of a bunch of young dudes eating hair cake, so that happened.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Ciao bellas e bellos! Day two of Milan Fashion Week has just wrapped, and I’m running a day behind, so let’s kick things off with day one today, then day two tomorrow, and so on and so forth. You get my drift. So! It all started with Ermenegildo Zegna, and ended with Lil Wayne flipping the audience off and walking out of the Philipp Plein show 45 seconds into his set, which, as you can imagine, was an extreme disappointment for all concerned (but especially for his number one fan Jenny Albright).Click to Continue!
A look from the Jil Sander S/S 2014 show. There are a couple of fashion week imperatives that I’ve learned over the years, and the first is quite simple – always double check the address of the show you’re about to see. I forgot that one in my pre-show delirium on Saturday, and found myself standing outside Zegna HQ where the show is usually held, wondering where all the people were. I looked at my invitation and discovered that Stefano Pilati’s first show for Ermenegildo Zegna was, in fact, on the other side of town. One 15 minute, panic-fueled taxiClick to Continue!
Turtle, E and Johnny Drama. Absent: Vinnie Chase and Ari Gold. Photo: HBO The greatest moment of Entourage season seven occurs in the closing minutes of the final episode: Vinnie mouths off one too many times to the wrong person – Eminem – and gets hooked straight in the jaw. It’s a sweet pay off. I’ve always liked Vinnie, empathised with his character and enjoyed his successes; but last series, for the first time, I began to see what it was that every girl I ever debate Entourage with seems to see: the guy errs on the side of self-involvedClick to Continue!
Francisco Lachowski all bloodied up at DSquared2 The final day of fashion week is always quieter than the rest. They pack so much into the first three days that by the time the last one arrives most people are ready to drop. First show of the day was DSquared2. With no invitation to my name and no plan of attack for getting in, I arrived 30 minutes late – two minutes before the doors were about to close. At the gate, the check in desk for buyers was still open but the press desk was closed. Things weren’t looking good.Click to Continue!
