Hey, gidday mates! Happy New Year!!! Back to life, back to reality. Early January is always a weird time — everyone’s still in holiday mode but obsessively trying to cling on to their resolutions; after all, 17 days is all that’s required to create a habit (I have no science to back that up, FYI). I guess I’m no exception. I worked out at Equinox in Soho with Moti Ankari on Saturday and I even found myself promising to go at least five times per week in 2016. I rate the likelihood of success at around 33.7%.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! It finally got cold enough to wear shearling over the weekend, so Jenny and I shot our new Coach jackets with our mate Kat Irlin (aka @kat_in_nyc), and something terrible happened. Kat asked us what we were up to for the rest of the day, we BREATHLESSLY announced that we were going to see Star Wars, and Kat, who has never seen a Star Wars movie in her life, casually dropped the biggest spoiler of the entire film. I won’t tell you what you said just in case you haven’t seen it yet, but it was bad — I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to forgive her. Lucky for her, she takes a good photo, so our working relationship remains intact. (For the record, Star Wars exceeded all my expectations. SO GOOD.)Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! As you’ll see here, I love three things: Jenny Albright, making out in the rain, and shooting with Kat Irlin aka @kat_in_nyc. Not necessarily in that order, but I also love trench coats, running around the West Village, and the fact that it’s December and the chill still hasn’t hit. I don’t really know what else to say about that, but I’m feeling very happy with my lot right now. Hope you are too. Long may it continue.Click to Continue!
Tucked away in the back of an unmarked warehouse on an industrial side street on the outskirts of Downtown LA is Re/Done — the smartest, coolest and most environmentally friendly denim line I’ve personally ever encountered. You know how the holy grail of jeans is that perfect pair of vintage stonewashed Levi’s that you find at a flea market, fall in love with, take home, try on, and go, “Wow the denim is awesome but the fit is atrocious,” well, file this one under, ‘Ideas I Wish I’d Come Up With First’.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! Way, way back in 2004 when I was still at university in New Zealand, I discovered a website named men.style.com where I was able to see all the men’s collections coming out of Milan, Paris and New York. Of all the designers across all three cities, there was one who stood above the rest, and that was Hedi Slimane, the creative director of Dior Homme. His models were skinny, his clothing was tightly tailored, and everything he did had this dirty London rock’n’roll edge that felt so aesthetically perfect in that current moment.Click to Continue!
