Hey, gidday mates! Ironically, I’m writing this post on the day that warmth and happiness have both left the city, leaving us in a frigid pit of fog and rain and despair, but last week when I shot these images the heat was here with full force and it left me no options but to get the legs out. For the record, I am not somebody who enjoys wearing shorts, but sometimes part of being an adult is doing these we don’t like because it’s the right thing to do. So here we are. For the occasion I wore my favourite cut-off grey crewneck sweatshirt with a white T-shirt poking through because every man should feel like Rocky at least once in his life. One of the things that’s been most interesting for me throughout the Little Brother design process has been working with colour. As a general rule, guys stick to the tried and true: Navy blue, charcoal, black, white, khaki etc. But as evidenced by the sheer amount of men walking the streets of New York in loud shorts right now, that rule goes out the window the moment temperatures explode. Like next level monsoon, thunder bolts and lightning, very very frightening indeed wet. It gave Sheida and I a good opportunity to bust out our gym-worked bodies, and our mid-thigh swimming trunks – if you haven’t already heard, mid-thigh swimming trunks trump knee-length board shorts every time, and they’re your best bet for looking like Jude Law. There are far too many examples of bad board shorts being worn on the beach for my liking. Every man older than 12 should have a respectable pair of swimming trunks as opposed to calf-length boardies emblazoned with 800,000 logos, slogans and ker-razy pockets. Toggs is an Australian company that specialises in good looking togs for men. They don’t do unnecessary, quirky details, just great colours, patterns and one awesome above-the-knee length. Girls, I reckon this is the perfect present for a brother, Dad, or ex-boyfriend you’re still friends with but don’t want to splurge on. Plus, you can tellClick to Continue!
Like I said the other day, Summer is hands down the hardest season to dress for if you’re a man. With that in mind – and seeing as I’m a sucker for girls in boys’ clothing – I thought I’d let Anouk Rondel show off a couple of pieces I’m going to be wearing as the weather gets a bit warmer. First up: an American Apparel navy and white baseball tee shirt paired with some Crane Brothers tan shorts. I love a good white and tan combo. It’s so American and so simple.Full disclosure: the Crane Brothers shorts were aClick to Continue!
