Cue the humble brag: It’s not too often that luxury companies hit me up for my address to send me gifts, but a couple of weeks ago I got an email from Hermés about a new app they’ve launched named Tie Break, which is basically a quirky mobile menswear world filled with educational tidbits like how-to-tie the common tie and scarf knots; entertainment like old-school computer games with an Hermés spin and a video of a Chinese guy singing a love song while he ties his bow tie; and e-commerce where you can flick through all the season’s tie options and purchase them through the app. It’s a good time.Click to Continue!
Despite a constant string of late nights due to DJing and partying and my current predilection for insomnia, I’m on a bit of a health kick at the moment, and I read recently that drinking beet juice increases the flow of blood to your vital organs, which makes them operate better. I’m still trying to get my head around the seasonal change here in New York – Spring has arrived, but the temperatures are still in the negatives each day. Go figure. Every store in the city has transitioned into their S/S collections, but I’m not about to go buy some shorts when I can barely leave the house without a scarf and gloves. (That said, I did pick up J Crew’s seersucker suit jacket yesterday, but when in Rome.)
