Hey, gidday mates! I don’t know about you, but everything feels weird right now. Spring keeps teasing; everyone I know is either sick or suffering from some kind of seasonal/occupational depression; and I think we’re all just desperate to get the winter behind us and move onto new adventures. But I walk through Tompkins Square Park and see the little green shoots and pink blossoms appearing on trees all over the place and it reminds me that everything’s going to be okay. Everything’s going to be okay. Everything’s going to be okay. As a way of combatting the seasonal slump, I’m setting myself a goal of wearing something completely different every day (as opposed to living in my black jeans and leather jacket). This is my attempt at British royal visiting Balmoral Castle in Scotland. How’d I do what what?Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! We’re in the midst of an unprecedented winter right now. This time last year, the year before, and the year before that, I was refusing to leave the house without a long-sleeve thermal shirt under a t-shirt under a button-down under a woolen sweater under a lightweight jacket under an overcoat. No joke. Today, on December 16, when it would typically be snowing, it’s warm enough to grab a coffee in a crewneck sweatshirt with a short jacket thrown on top. Crazy.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I mentioned the other day that I’m spending a chunk of November in Los Angeles to keep things fresh (and to get a breather before the winter chill hits), and my first West Coast stint officially started yesterday, but won’t last long — I’m flying East for a wedding in South Carolina tomorrow, then back to NYC for a DJing job on Saturday before coming back here to LA on Monday next week. It’s all hatnin’.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates! I don’t know about you, but I’m somebody who suffers from a serious amount of guilt every time I sleep in past 8:30am on a weekday. This morning I woke up at 10:45am. 10:45!!! I blame three things: the three parties Jenny and I deejayed till 3am last week; my newfound obsession with the family Kardashian; and the NyQuil I drank last night to dull the cold that’s a-brewin’ as we speak.Click to Continue!
Hey, gidday mates. The title of this blog post is somewhat misleading, I’ll admit, but let me explain. Back in June during the men’s fashion weeks in Europe, I went along to the No21 by Alessandro Dell’Acqua show, and everybody who was working that show (from the models to the ushers) was wearing one of these T-shirts. I begged the PR team to give me one, and a week or so after I arrived back in NYC, a parcel showed up with this inside. I’m obsessed. Not only is it a striking visual image, but it’s the fashion show equivalent to your favourite band’s tour T-shirt. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. Literally.Click to Continue!
